About PseudoQuest™

Welcome to PseudoQuest™!

A µTime Games Production

What is it?

PseudoQuest is a humorous turn-based fantasy RPG. Each day, players get a limited number of turns to go out adventuring, kill strange beasties, collect exotic treasure, and complete amusing quests. Players can interact with each other by sending mail, or simply gathering in the local pub and chatting away. There's a whole world out there to explore, and we're working on adding new stuff almost every day!

Who's it for?

If you've got an odd sense of humor and a penchant for puns, PseudoQuest is for you! A healthy knowledge of other computer RPGs, MMO's, or role-playing in general is a plus, but not required to enjoy the game. The mechanics are simple enough that anyone can pick it up.

Open Beta?

This game is under continued development, and this is just the beginning. We'll be adding a lot more stuff as time goes on, but the game is completely playable as is.

The official date for the beginning of the Open Beta is May 18th at 5pm PDT. You can create an account before then, but just know that your character will be reset at that time (you will, however, get to keep any Gold you've bought). Starting then, you'll be able to participate in our referral program, too! (Check back on the launch for more details about that!)

Be sure to join us on May 18th at 5pm PDT in The Drunken Dragon in Smallsville (the pub in the starting town) for the official launch party!

Who's responsible for this mess, anyway?

PseudoQuest is a production of µTime Games, Inc., and is primarily written by Geoff Benson, President of µTime Games.

Who did the artwork?

It's very astute of you to notice that Geoff's artwork is... shall we say... primitive. The placeholder art that was used in development was graciously donated by Sven Schober. All the real art you see in the first areas was professionally completed by Linnéa Holmström Ljung, whose other works can be seen on her portfolio site at Blue Delirium. Fabulous new artwork is being created on an ongoing basis by Mathew Winder, whose website is located at mathewwinder.com.

How much does it cost to play?

So long as you've got internet access, it's free! However, donations are appreciated, and help keep the game up and running smoothly. Also, we encourage you to check out our CafePress shop, and of course to pick up some of our board and card games.

Sample:

That's not a question.

Then again, this isn't a FAQ, so here you go:

Green Slime

Green Slime

It's no wonder that these are in every single fantasy game out there... They look like sentient lime gelatin dessert, and who doesn't like that? However, these ones have been rolling around in the dirt a lot, so I wouldn't recommend trying to eat them.
Moderately Sharp Playing Card

Moderately Sharp Playing Card

When you appeared in the realm, this is the only offensive item you had on you. Well, it's not really "offensive"... it's quite tame, actually. However, it could give someone a rather nasty papercut.

How do I sign up?

Head over to the Account Creation page! It's just that easy!
