 Graphical reworking
ok, I guess this is the place for your ideas/ suggestions. so to get the ball rolling heres a small thing I did. the basis for this is a more sumi-e/ japanese thingy similar to Okami ( one of the best games ever) as a result though it looks like he's on a permanent acid trip. obviously this would need some polish. Also, I wouldn't take this one to serousily as I doubt i could do this make over to the other graphical sprites.

 Re: Graphical reworking
It's cute. For what I envision on PQ, it's about 3 notches too far towards cartoony on the "cartoon <-> realism" scale, but I could see it being used in other games with only minor polish from there, to be sure.

 Re: Graphical reworking
I want one!
On a more ontopic note, it's definitly good. But i'll agree that I dont think it matches PQ. End Communication

 Re: Graphical reworking
probabaly just as well it isn't good for pq, as making the non spherical monsters look good would have been a nightmare.
Chances are I'll churn out another few attempts tonight.

 Re: Graphical reworking
And those attempts have arrived! a few quick things first though: 1. yes, I am pretty much chucking out any idea that I get 2. they were originally supposed to be transparent or translucent... whatever with there back grounds, meaning it wold look different if it was on grass or stone. this time they look like jelly, the huge eyes persist and I've toned down the cartoon element. I hope.

 Re: Graphical reworking
:/ Sorry dude, it's just they seem too be too cartoony still i think. Also seems a world away from the heart of PQ, gritty.
Maby try something more gritty and see how it looks?

 Re: Graphical reworking
what if i put some grit in them?
ba-dum-tish!
Really right now if i have an idea i make it. as a result, several have turned out to cartoony. I might try to tone it down, or fiddle more with the other ideas. chances are neither will happen as I'm really busy this weekned and snowed under with homework for next week.

 Re: Graphical reworking
Hahaha. I love it! I can picture these things roaming the land, dragging themselves along by their giant tusks, leaving pairs of cylindrical holes in the earth just perfect for planting trees in.

 Re: Graphical reworking
O_O Brilliant description, and possibly a good monster for an eventual snowy chilly area? so not everything is crammed into the existing area

 Re: Graphical reworking
I actually like the cartoonish looks, makes the 2d look cooler.
